The West end market reminds Joel of a film set. Along the meandering river lies this very colourful market selling an array of colourful foods and clothing. Probably the most picturesque of Brisbane's famous markets.

The West End Markets, located off Montague Road and spread around Davies Park, are a local institution.

From 6am until 2pm every Saturday, an eclectic mix of West Enders and Brisbane locals flocks to the markets to take advantage of the bargains and to soak up the chilled-out atmosphere.

A huge array of fresh fruit and vegetable is available with customers coming from far and wide to pick up their fresh produce for the week to come, at prices well below what you’d find in the supermarket. Foodies are also spoilt with a range of fresh seafood, antipasti and cheeses on offer. 

You won’t be disappointed with the breakfast and lunch options available at the stalls either. Regulars flock to the cooked-to -order creperie and the German sausage van is a must-visit. There are lots of snack options to keep tummies full including freshly squeezed organic juices, freshly ground and brewed coffee and cute cupcakes.  

You’ll also find a unique mix of locally produced, hand-made clothing and jewellery for sale throughout the unpretentious and relaxed market
